The NEURON School: Principles of Computational Neuroscience

From April 16 to 20, 2018 will take place in Alghero (SS), at the headquarters of Porto Conte Ricerche in the locality of Tramariglio, the scientific school entitled “The NEURON School: Principles of Computational Neuroscience”. The school is organized by the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Sassari (Italy) and is also implemented thanks to funds from the “Scientific School 2017-2018” program promoted by Sardegna Ricerche. Computational models are particularly useful because they allow us to test our knowledge about a particular phenomenon and are also widely used to test hypotheses that can not be verified experimentally. Despite the potential impact of this neuroscience field on the scientific community, specific training courses are absent in Sardinia and in the rest of Italy or abroad they are often too much expensive. The aims of the school is to overcome some of these difficulties by offering participants the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to address the construction of computational models of biologically realistic neurons. The official language of the school is English.

Inscriptions Participation is limited to 25 students. The deadline for applications is 1st April 2018. Applications must be submitted via the school website.
